Across a year, Texas adds 350,000 to 500,000 people — and one recent year alone brought more than 560,000, one of the largest single-year increases on record. More than 31 million people now live, work, and build their future here. By 2036, the state is on track to add 3 to 5 million more.
The big picture is simple. Texas isn't just growing. It's growing faster than nearly every other state in the nation. Every new family, business, school, hospital, and community needs the infrastructure that makes modern life work.

The building blocks behind everyday Texas
It's easy to forget how much material goes into the places Texans live, learn, heal, and gather. The average home takes 400 tons of aggregates. One mile of six-lane highway takes 15,000 cubic yards of concrete. A modern hospital takes 30,000. A high school football stadium takes 100,000. Even day to day, the average American uses the equivalent of 50 to 60 pounds of aggregates.
